Our take

Role

Anthony Seigler came from Milwaukee in the Caleb Durbin trade. The Yankees' first-round pick (No. 23) in 2018 out of Cartersville High School, he is a switch-hitter listed as throwing with both hands. He started the year on the IL with left knee tendinopathy, came up in June, and made 40 starts at second base, the most on the team. Curtis Mead is the planned second baseman for 2027.

Outlook

He hit .247/.327/.400 with 3 homers and 18 walks in 173 plate appearances, much better than his .502 OPS as a rookie with Milwaukee. At Worcester he hit .267/.381/.410. Savant is less excited. He was at -3 outs above average at second, with max exit velocity, sprint speed and arm strength all at or below the 15th percentile. A right wrist injury put him on the IL Sept. 13 and that was the end of his season. He turns 28 in June.

Our take: he gets on base and he can play second and third, which keeps him on a 40-man roster. With Mead and Nick Sogard ahead of him, we see him starting in Triple-A and getting called up when someone gets hurt.
